Well, here we go again! This morning I weighed in at 140 exactly. I have decided to take on a sugar free January and for the past 2 days I have done well. I haven't felt very many cravings for sugar except for once last night when my husband broke out the sweet bread our neighbor gave us yesterday and my kids were all eating chocolate chips, reeses peanut butter cups and treats from Timmy's basketball game. But, it wasn't even that bad and I resisted fine, even when my husband forgot my no sugar pledge and brought me a slice of bread.
Although I never officially weighed in over the past week or so, I think my weight went up even more from 141.4 to probably around 143. However, I enjoyed eating whatever I wanted all of December so it was worth it. Anyway, an easy way to lose weight quickly is to cut out sugar. I'm not super strict but I try not to eat anything sweet unless it is sweetened by fruit, not fruit juice.
Here is what I am going to avoid:
Desserts and candy
Yogurts except plain
Juice, soda, hot chocolate etc.
Jam, jelly, honey, nutella
Aspartame, sucralose, splenda etc
I am also trying to cut out fried foods but my saving grace is eating cheese. Life is always better with a little cheese :) I can also eat fruit.
The only thing that would change my resolve to eat no sugar for a month is if I get pregnant and start getting sick, then all bets are off.
I am also working on exercising more and so far I have exercised every other day and I plan on working out today. I was so sore from exercising Monday that I couldn't find the resolve on Tuesday and then on Thursday I was feeling very stressed out so I decided to skip the workout.
Here's a healthy January!!
